Sgt Allan George Nicholson of the Seaforth Highlanders campaigned to the queen after leaving the Army,getting arrested on the grounds of Buckingham Palace. He was admonished by the queen and managed to win a review into service pensions, which is why service pensions are the way they are today. He recieved no pension ! Archie Macauley (Archie Amhlaidh) , from Tolsta Chaolais on the Isle of Lewis, joined the Seaforth Highlanders along with John MacLeod, and P/M Donald 'Swank' MacLeod who were both from the same village John MacLeod - Piper in the Seaforth Highlanders before World War One
