Cabarfeidh Bagpipe Supplies was founded in 1995 by Niall T Matheson, after leaving the army. Niall An image of a mans kilt playing bagpipesserved for 12 years with the First Battn., The Queens Own Highlanders. In this time Niall gained the rank of Sergeant and passed his Pipe Majors Course with Distinction. Niall competes at the highest level of solo competition and has been a prolific prize winner around the Highland Games circuit for many years. Along with P/M Alasdair Gillies, Niall is the only other person to have won a glass chanter to keep. The Glass chanter was a prize awarded to the piper with the most aggregate points around 10 of the major Games in the north of Scotland, and was sponsored by Caithness Glass. A competitor was allowed to keep the glass chanter if they won it 3 years in succession.

In 1998 Niall won the Gold Medal for piobaireachd at the Argyllshire Gathering in Oban, this was added to in 2001 with the Gold Medal from the Northern Meeting, Inverness. Niall has also on two occasions won the piobaireachd gold medal at the Braemar Highland Gathering.
